The Westpac Helicopter Has Landed!

We Have Eggs!

As part of our Science unit on the living world, we have been learning about life cycles. Yesterday, 7 eggs in an incubator arrived in our classroom. We have been trying to guess what type of animal might hatch from the eggs. We are looking forward to watching the eggs hatch and seeing the animals grow. It is a very exciting experience indeed!

The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss

In English, we have started a study of the book, The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss. This is a story that many children can relate to as it explores the idea of being different and, as a result, being excluded. We have talked about the way that characters treat one another and how our personal experiences can help us understand a particular point of view.

Today the children came up with their own scenarios and performed short plays to show their understanding of the concepts we have discussed. Why not have a chat with your child about what they think the message behind The Sneetches is and comment on their thoughts??
